BEYOND PROPERTY — COMMUNITY, COMPASSION & RESPONSIBILITY

At Saint Ange Real Estate, property has never been just about land or homes. It is about lifestyle, people, community, and the environment we all share — including the animals that are part of everyday life in Seychelles.

Since 2023, I have had the privilege of serving as Chairperson of BE KIND NGO, an organisation dedicated to improving animal welfare across our islands. It is a cause I care deeply about and one that I believe is particularly important within a small island nation such as Seychelles, where animals form such a visible and unique part of our community and culture.

Seychelles is home to countless wonderful pets and stray animals, many of which simply need care, education, and responsible ownership to ensure a healthier future. Through Be Kind, we work to raise awareness on the importance of sterilisation in reducing unwanted litters and long-term animal suffering.

One of our key initiatives involves organising sterilisation campaigns in collaboration with international veterinarians who generously travel to Seychelles to support these efforts. These campaigns play an important role in helping to reduce stray populations in a humane and sustainable way.

Education is equally important. We regularly engage with children and schools to encourage compassion, kindness, and responsible pet ownership from a young age. We also continue to maintain dialogue with government and stakeholders regarding broader animal welfare concerns, including the need to better regulate breeding and strengthen long-term welfare strategies.

A very special part of our journey is Lucky — a dog rescued from the streets who has since become somewhat of a mascot for the NGO. Lucky often accompanies us during educational talks and community outreach activities, helping children connect naturally with the message of kindness and responsibility.

For me personally, supporting initiatives such as these reflects the same values that guide my professional life — care for community, preservation of our environment, and contributing positively to the future of Seychelles.

Because ultimately, investing in a place is not only about property — it is about protecting and nurturing the community around it.
